The Trial-Pyaar, Kanoon, Dhoka, featuring Kajol in the lead role, is scheduled to premiere on Disney Plus Hotstar on July 14. Directed by Suparn Verma, the series also stars Jisshu Sengupta. Kajol portrays a lawyer who re-enters the courtroom after her husband, portrayed by Jisshu, is arrested for sexual and financial wrongdoings. In a pre-release interview, Kajol discussed her husband Ajay Devgn and her close friend and frequent collaborator Shah Rukh Khan.
When asked about her choice for a lawyer in a film, other than her actor-husband Ajay Devgn, Kajol immediately mentioned Shah Rukh. She stated, โShah Rukh. Hands down I will choose Shah Rukh. He is the smoothest talker ever.โ
